Meet Mana

Building better habits is hard enough. You don't need an app yelling at you when you slip up. You need a companion.

Inspired by Simplicity

When we set out to build Manaya, we looked at apps that successfully changed human behavior. Duolingo stood out, not just because of its streaks, but because of Duo the owl.

Having a simple, recognizable character creates an emotional connection that raw statistics and charts simply cannot match. We designed Mana (your on-screen companion) with that exact same philosophy. Mana sits with you during your 10-second wait, creating a moment of calm rather than a moment of restriction.

Gamification over Guilt

Traditional screen time blockers rely on guilt. They throw up a big red "Time Limit Reached" screen that makes you feel bad about yourself (which often just leads to tapping "Ignore Limit").

Manaya relies on gamification and positive reinforcement. Every time you wait out the shield or successfully back away from opening a distracting app, Mana celebrates the small win.

  • Streaks: Build a daily streak of mindful decisions.
  • Positive Feedback: Mana cheers when you succeed, but never shames you when you slip up.
  • Emotional Anchor: Seeing a familiar, friendly character helps ground you when the subconscious urge to doomscroll hits.
